Supporting Pet Health through Fresh Food Feeding

At Southern Raw Pet Meats, we’re more than just a pet food supplier — we’re a family of animal lovers based in Albany, WA, dedicated to supporting pet health and wellbeing through quality fresh food feeding. We believe feeding fresh should be simple, natural, and true to what nature intended.

That’s why we create quality raw meats, mixes, bones, and dehydrated treats for dogs and cats, all proudly sourced from Australian ingredients. Every product is 100% natural — no preservatives, fillers, chemicals, or artificial flavours — just pure, wholesome nutrition in every bite. Our resealable packaging keeps everything fresh so that you can feed with confidence and ease.

For DIY raw feeders, our ready-to-use meat mixes take the stress out of balancing a raw diet. We’ve already done the groundwork — combining proportions of muscle meat, bone, organs, and vegetables — so you can focus on tailoring each meal to your pet’s unique needs. Whether they need extra joint support, allergy relief, or an energy boost, you can add the right supplements or toppers to make it their own.

We make the raw feeding approachable, practical, and full of goodness — because your pet deserves nothing less.

All-natural, preservative-free, grain-free and Ethically Sourced

Why Choose Raw?

Raw feeding is about getting back to nature. By offering fresh, unprocessed meats, bones, and organs, you’re giving your pet the kind of diet their ancestors thrived on — naturally rich in protein, healthy fats, and essential nutrients.

No fillers. No preservatives. No mystery ingredients. Just real food for real health.

The Benefits of Raw Feeding:

  • Healthier skin & shinier coats – Fresh ingredients and natural oils support soft, glossy coats.
  • Cleaner teeth & fresher breath – Raw bones help reduce plaque and keep teeth strong.
  • More energy – Real, unprocessed proteins boost vitality.
  • Easier digestion – Fresh foods are gentle on the tummy and easy to absorb.
  • Fewer sensitivities – Simple ingredients lower the risk of reactions.
  • Stronger immune health – Natural nutrients support overall well-being.
  • Smaller, firmer stools – Many pets produce less odorous, more manageable stools.
  • Healthy weight – Raw feeding helps maintain lean muscle and a balanced body condition.
  • Better joint comfort – Collagen and healthy fats support mobility.
  • Mental enrichment – Chewing raw bones satisfies instinct and reduces stress.

Giving Back

At Southern Raw Pet Meats, pets are at the heart of everything we do. Our passion doesn’t stop at creating wholesome, natural food — it extends into the community that celebrates them. We believe responsible pet ownership is the foundation of happy, healthy dogs, and that’s why we proudly support dog clubs and rescue organisations across Western Australia.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of giving back in ways that bring people and dogs together. From sponsoring local dog clubs to donating our all-natural treats, we love helping out where it counts. Whether it’s prize packs for competitors at trials and championship shows, or generous hampers raffled off to raise much-needed funds, it’s our way of saying thank you to the dedicated volunteers and trainers who make these communities thrive.

If you’re part of a local dog club — obedience, sporting, or training — and would like sponsorship or support, we’d love to hear from you. Let’s work together to keep tails wagging and clubs thriving.

Product Disclaimer – Pet food products

Southern Raw Pet Meats provides raw pet foods & dehydrated pet treats intended for animal consumption only. Our raw products are made from fresh, natural ingredients; however, as with all raw animal products, you must follow safe food handling practices.

Handling & Storage:

  • Always keep raw pet food frozen or refrigerated as directed.
  • Thaw in the refrigerator and use within the recommended time frame.
  • Wash hands, utensils, and food preparation surfaces thoroughly after handling.

For further storage recommendations, see the ‘’Storage & Shelf Life’’ notes.

Our foods are designed as a complementary product to support a balanced raw feeding approach. Each pet has its own unique dietary needs. Factors such as age, weight, breed, activity level, and health conditions can greatly affect their nutritional requirements.

Always introduce new foods gradually and watch how your pet responds.

The information and guidance on this website are based on personal experience, research, and education. It is for general advice only and should never replace professional veterinary care.

Feeding ratios and portion sizes are broad recommendations, not customised formulas. Information regarding feeding styles and portion sizes is intended as suggestions and a guide and is not tailored to the specific needs of any individual pet. While we aim to ensure accuracy, we are not veterinarians or certified animal nutritionists.

For personalised advice, or if your pet has special dietary or health needs, please consult a qualified veterinarian or animal nutritionist before making any significant changes to their diet.

Important:
Southern Raw Pet Meats does not provide medical advice or claim to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition for pets. Feeding a raw pet food diet is a person’s choice made at the owner’s discretion and responsibility.

By choosing to feed our products, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with handling and feeding our pet food products.

Our raw meats, bones and mixes are prepared fresh in our hygienic commercial kitchen, where we adhere to strict sanitation protocols to preserve the quality and freshness of our pet foods. We perform thorough cleaning procedures between different products and production runs to prevent ingredient cross-contamination. For optimal safety, we recommend following standard food handling practices when managing our raw pet foods and advise washing hands, bowls, and containers thoroughly after each feeding.

We are a HACCP-certified facility that complies with industry standards for freshness and sustainability. Our products are independently tested in laboratories to verify quality and nutritional data profiles.

We advise against cooking our mixes, as they contain crushed fresh bone. Heating these products can alter their composition and may present health risks to your pet. Definitions of light cooking vary considerably, so to maintain consistency and ensure safety, we recommend not cooking our mixes. Cooking may cause the bones within the mixture to become brittle, which, if consumed, could result in blockages or other harm to your pet.

Raw meaty bones are a valuable part of a balanced raw diet for both dogs and cats. They help keep teeth clean, gums healthy, and supply essential minerals like calcium and phosphorus for strong bones and overall well-being. Chewing also provides mental stimulation; eases stress and satisfies the natural urge to chew (or gnaw) — helping to reduce boredom and unwanted behaviour.

Bone Feeding Guidelines:

  • Never feed cooked bones — they can splinter and cause serious injury or blockages.
  • Choose the right size and type — match bones to your pet’s size, breed, and chewing style.
  • Always supervise — watch your pet while they’re chewing to ensure safety.
  • Meaty bones (soft, edible, with meat attached) are safe to consume and form part of their diet.
  • Recreational bones (large, hard, weight-bearing bones) are not meant to be eaten — they’re best for enrichment and dental cleaning but can break teeth if chewed too aggressively.

All products display a ‘packed on date’ on their packaging. This date assumes the packaging remains unopened and the product is stored under recommended conditions. The period may differ between frozen meat mixes and dehydrated treat products. Please see below for additional details.

Shelf Life – unopened

Frozen Mixes and Meats 12 months from the packed-on date
Frozen Bones: 3 months from the packed-on date
Dehydrated Treats: 6 months from packed on
Dog Rolls: 6 months from the packed-on date

Frozen Product Storage

Storing of frozen pet meat, mixes and bones should be stored at or below -18°C in a freezer to maintain freshness and prevent bacterial growth. Once fully thawed, the product should be kept refrigerated at 4°C or below and sealed in an airtight container for up to three days. Discard any product that no longer appears or smells fresh.

Dehydrated Treats Storage

Treats should be resealed and continued to be stored in a cool, dry place to maintain their freshness – our packaging is resealable for ease of use and storage. Airtight sealable container and recommend using within 8-12 weeks after opening.

Southern Raw Dog Rolls Storage

Keep fresh rolls refrigerated at 4°C or below and seal the ends with aluminium foil or a roll cover to prevent drying. Use within 5-7 days. While you can freeze dog roll, it is best eaten fresh, as freezing may affect its texture and taste.
